Here is the obituary for

ROSS (GIROUARD), Delphine
2013-10-23

It is with sadness, we announce the passing of Leading Wren Delphine Ross, in her 98th year.

Delphine is survived by her loving daughters, Liz Dunphy (John Dunphy), Jacquie Ross (Danny Zalac) and son-in-law Denis St-Amour. ‘Mere Mere’ was also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew Dunphy, Debbie Dunphy, Christiane St-Amour (Tim Rivard), James St-Amour (Theresa Miller), Tim Zalac (Andrea Hilton) and Mike Zalac (Ashley Jones); great-grandchildren Taylyn, Brogan, Dulon, Jetta, Ashley, Nate, Lillian, Samantha, David, Thomas, Jack, Taylor and Katelyn; and great-great grandchild Skylyn.

She is survived as well, by her sister Mariah (Rene); brothers, John, Frank, and Edgar, many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter Marie St-Amour; husbands Jack Ross and Melvin Savoy; two infant sons; her brothers Bert, Fabien, Adalore, Joe & Arthur and sisters Marie, Adele, Eva, Corrine, Alexina, Mary-Jane and Kathleen.

The oldest daughter in a family of 17, her life was filled with the love of many. A proud naval veteran who served her country with pride, she was often asked to represent the women of the Canadian Armed Forces at many military events; an honour she felt privileged to perform.

She loved the ballet and delighted thousands with her portrayal of the grandmother in the Ballet Ouest production of the Nutcracker. She danced with pride and joy for 28 years, with her final performance just last December. It was a role for which she was previously featured in the Gazette and on national television.

She leaves behind a legacy of inspiring strength, courage and joy; instilling in her family the drive to never give up on your dreams; don’t let anyone tell you that you are not able; and never say no to an opportunity to experience the joys in life. She loved us fiercely and would defend and protect us all to the end. We will miss her, but rest comfortably in knowing she is home with her Lord and family. MAB.Friends are invited to join the family at Alexandre Nicole Funeral Complex on Friday, Oct. 25 from 2pm to 5pm & from 7pm to 9pm, where The White Ensign Club of Montreal will perform a Naval ceremony at 8pm.Funeral services to be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 295 McLeod, Chateauguay, J6J 2H8, Saturday, Oct. 26 at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made, in her name, to Ste-Anne’s Veterans Hospital Foundation, 305 boul. des Anciens Combattants, Ste-Anne-de-Belleview, QC H9X 1Y9, 514-457-8484.
