GOODFELLOW, Charles William

Charles William Goodfellow born Montreal 1917 son of George C. Goodfellow and Caroline Jones passed away at summer house - Lery, Qc. on February 18th. Resident of Governors Harbour, Eleuthera, Bahamas. Charles was a proud Quebecer, lumberman, father, bon vivant and collector and preserver of our history.
Our father leaves 5 sons, Richard (Louise) - Dorval, Qc., Christopher – Arundel, Qc., Glenn (Sylvie) – Palm Beach, Fl., Charles (Nicky) – London, U.K., Ian (Karin) – Nassau, Bahamas, and 11 grandchildren – Patrick, Vincent, Gabrielle, William, Alexis, Maine, Eleanor, Edward, Matthew, Maclean and Delaney, and 4 great grand children. Last of his generation to pass on at 96 he was predeceased by siblings Mary, George, and Philip. Also predeceased by wife Ann (Treglown) (Richard & Chris), wife Georgette (Bertrand) (Glen, Charles, Ian) and companion Marie Williams with whom he shared many pleasant years.
Charles spent his life in many places, Montreal, Warren – Vermont, as a long-time resident of Eleuthera in the winters, and finally close to family in his favourite spot inWoodlands, Qc. (Lery).
His hobbies included antiques, hunting, gardening, orchids, parrots, furniture-making and developing beautiful Quebec country properties in Franklin Center, the Beauce, and Elliot Island on the Ottawa. Charlie was also an accomplished pilot and motor-home traveller. His regular visits to Guatemala inspired a love for its people and crafts.
He will be sorely missed by his many loyal and devoted caregivers over the years and his many cousins in Lery.The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral parlor on Friday February 21, from 3pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9 pm.A short private funeral service will be held at the small chapel on the family property in Lery with a reception and wake to follow next door at 400 Chemin du Lac in Lery.
