It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our precious Mother. Irene O’Brien, passed away on Monday February 1, 2021 at the age of 79. Born June 21, 1941 in Montreal, she is predeceased by her parents, John and Miriam O’Brien and her late husband of 54 years, Richard Neal.
Loving mother of Jason (Debbie), Erin, Tara (late Rick Authier) and Jordan (Karalee). She was the proud Nanny to Kayla, Alexa, Riley, Peyton, Sera and Amy. Dear sister of Maureen (late Louie Deer), David (Judy) and Jackie (Anne).Fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
She devoted her life to her children, leaving her position at the CN when her first child was born. She raised her children with love and devotion always putting her family first. She was an amazing mother who always had time for her family and made the people around her feel special.Our Mom was as strong as she was beautiful. We never had to look far for support or for someone who had our backs. She was known for her fighting spirit, never afraid to stand up for what she believed in. She was adored by her children and grandchildren. She was always eager to attend any of her grandchildren’s events and shows, always waiting for them afterwards with flowers.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at a later date.

on Saturday February 20, 2021.
