Here is the obituary for

CIPRIANI, Guido
2021-03-08

1944-2021

It is with great sadness that we announce, that Guido Cipriani passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 8, 2021 at the age of 76, after a lengthy struggle with Cancer.

Guido was born on June 20, 1944 in the small village of Ururi, province of Campobasso, Italy. In 1957 he and his family boarded a ship to immigrate to Canada. Like many at the time, he came from little means and education, but always sought to better himself however he could. His family settled in Montreal and in 1972 Guido relocated to Chateauguay where he carved out a good life for himself and his own family. He retired from a successful career at GE Hydro, and he was an active volunteer for many charities, civic organizations and political leaders. Guido was a respected member of several clubs and associations and he gave generously of his time and effort. He enjoyed nature walks, outdoor activities, and loved socializing with friends or acquaintances at the many activities he took part in, or just over a coffee. He liked to travel but also enjoyed his home. He was a wonderful host to his visitors and a gracious guest.

Guido is very deeply missed and remembered by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Guido is predeceased by his parents, Antonio Cipriani and Virginia Taurozza; his sister Maria Cipriani Fabbia, and brother-in-law Nicola Fabbia; and his brother Luigi (Gino) Cipriani, and sister-in-law Rita Furlong Cipriani.

Guido is survived by his Son Richard Cipriani, and daughter-in-law Erin Henson; by his son Stephen Cipriani, and daughter-in-law Tanya Schwartz, and granddaughter Issabella Schwartz Cipriani; by his brother Aldo Cipriani, and sister-in-law Carmen Lipartiti Cipriani. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and their children, and a large extended family.

Due to current restrictions, it was Guido’s wish, that there be no visitation. A graveside service and interment will be held at the Christ-Roi Cemetery on Elm St in Chateauguay at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
