It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard (Dick) Lucas on April 4th 2020 at age 81. Beloved son of the late Richard Lucas and the late Margaret (Peggy) McHarg. Beloved husband of the late Marilyn Condon.
Loving father of Rick (Wanda), Scott (Anna), Lorne (Rachel) and Mark (Wendy). Brother of Daniel (Elizabeth) Ronald (Donna). He is also survived by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Richard was a past President of The Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 212) in LaSalle. He was a former city councillor for the city of LaSalle. He was also the recipient of the Governor-General’s caring Canadian award for his decades of work with the March of Dimes.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

A great person and humorist, Dick you'll be missed by all of us that knew you over the years, and by those comrades you leave behind. You fought your battles with honour and is now a time for rest, farewell and peace on your journey. To the family I send you my condolences on your loss, but to remember that as long as you hold him in your hearts he will never be far away. I join with so many others who knew Dick in offering our deepest sympathy on his passing. Although it is little consolation at this sad time, it should be of some satisfaction to know that in his passing you can celebrate a productive life. The measure of a life well-lived is not in how much money one has or what possessions they have accumulated, but rather through the lives they touched. If the outpouring of sympathy on your loss is any indication, and it most certainly is, you can proudly and confidently say that his indeed was a life well-lived. May you find peace and comfort in knowing that your loss is felt by all who knew and loved Dick.

This picture is the man I knew, very friendly and kind, I used to pick up articles from him to take to persons who needed walkers, canes, etc. Then while visiting at the home, I would speak with him. May his soul rest in peace and rise in glory.
